6. The qualities, arts, science etc. in which one excels or is weak, equal or unequal, when put in the locative. R. 1, 1, 17 samudra iva gāmbhīrye sthairye ca himavān iva / viṣṇunā sadṛśo vīrye kṣamayā pṛthivīsamaḥ / dhanadena samastyāge satye dharma ivāparaḥ, Mhbh. 1, 88, 13 prabhur agniḥ pratapane bhūmir āvapane prabhuḥ / prabhuḥ sūryaḥ prakāśitve. Here the ablative and instrumental are concurrent idioms.

6. 品質、技術、科学などが〈優れている・劣っている〉、〈同等である・同等でない〉場合にはloc.に置かれる。
